Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the technical management and support of all network infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, WLAN, and various migration projects. This role requires a deep understanding of network systems, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
• Network Management:
o Design, implement, and manage WAN, LAN, and WLAN infrastructure.
o Ensure network security and compliance with relevant standards and policies.
o Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
o Manage and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
o Interface with third party vendors to manage ongoing network contracts.
o Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Network Configuration and Optimization:
o Suggest, configure and optimize network infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure network operations.
o Implement and manage VLANs, VPNs, and QoS policies.
o Conduct regular network performance tuning and capacity planning.
o Ensure optimal configuration of network services such as DHCP, DNS, and IP address management.
• Microsoft 365 Management:
o Deploy, configure and manage Microsoft 365 services and infrastructure.
o Administer and support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
o Manage user accounts, licensing, and service configurations within the Microsoft 365 admin centre.
o Implement and manage security and compliance policies within Microsoft 365 through tools such as InTune.
• Migration Projects:
o Plan and execute network migration projects, including hardware upgrades, software updates, and technology transitions.
o Develop and document migration strategies, schedules, and risk assessments.
o Coordinate with vendors, stakeholders, and other IT teams to ensure successful project implementation.
o Perform post-migration testing and validation to ensure system integrity and performance.
• Network Security:
o Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, web application firewalls, web proxy solutions and VPNs.
o Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
o Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
o Provide advanced technical support for network infrastructure and resolve issues related to WAN, LAN, and WLAN.
o Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of systems.
o Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours network support.
• Documentation and Training:
o Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
o Provide training and knowledge transfer to IT staff and end-users as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
• Education and Experience:
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, including WAN, LAN, and WLAN management.
• Technical Skills:
o Strong expertise in network design, implementation, and management.
o Proficiency in configuring and managing network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls, access points).
o In-depth knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
o Experience with network security practices and tools.
o Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
• Certifications:
o Relevant certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, or Certified Wireless Network Professional (CWNP) are highly desirable.
• Soft Skills:
o Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
o Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
o Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
o Experience in working with offshore teams in a multi-cultural environment.
• Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience with cloud networking and hybrid environments.
o Knowledge of software-defined networking (SDN) and network automation.
o Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for network automation.
